HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Hammond 4WD Tyres and more originally Hammond 4wd centre was established in 1974 by Garry Hammond, the company's founder. The company started selling jeep parts in the shed of Garry’s family home. When Jeep Australia shut down, Garry bought many parts, some of which are still stored in our warehouse. With such a wide variety of jeep parts, Garry opened a store in Bulimba to better support the business but it wasn't long before they outgrew Bulimba buying land and building their custom-designed current location at 3 Neumann Road. In 2005, Garry was approached by Tyres & More who wanted to merge Hammond 4wd centre and Tyres and More to together form Hammond 4wd Tyres and More.
In 2010, Hammonds was ranked and voted the number 1 Tyres & More store of Australia. In 2014 Garry and his wife Sharon Hammond announced their retirement selling the business to son and daughter in law Mark and Kylie Hammond. Mark has been surrounded by the mechanical industry his entire life, from growing up alongside his parents and the business, to starting as an apprentice mechanic/ technician over 18 years ago, 6 years later becoming the workshop manager and general manager a further 2 years after that.
