Hammond 4WD Tyres and More began in 1974, founded by Garry Hammond, with nothing more than a passion for Jeeps and a shed at the family home. What started as selling Jeep parts quickly grew into something far bigger, driven by knowledge, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to doing things properly.

When Jeep Australia shut down, Garry recognised an opportunity to support Jeep owners across Australia, purchasing a large quantity of parts, many of which are still stored in our warehouse today. This foundation helped establish Hammond 4WD as a trusted name among Jeep and 4WD enthusiasts nationwide.

Growth Built on Experience

As the business expanded, Hammond 4WD outgrew its early setup and moved into a dedicated storefront in Bulimba. Continued growth soon led to the purchase of land and the construction of our custom-designed, purpose-built 4WD facility at 3 Neumann Road, Capalaba, where we proudly operate today, serving the Redland City and bayside community.

In 2005, Hammond 4WD Centre merged with Tyres and More, forming Hammond 4WD Tyres and More, strengthening our offering and cementing our position as a true one-stop 4WD shop.

By 2010, Hammond 4WD Tyres and More was ranked and voted the number one Tyres and More store in Australia, a reflection of the team’s dedication, expertise, and customer-first approach.

Three Generations. One Standard of Excellence.

In 2014, Garry and his wife Sharon Hammond announced their retirement, proudly passing the business to their son Mark Hammond and daughter-in-law Kylie Hammond.

Mark has been immersed in the mechanical and 4WD industry his entire life, from attending swap meets alongside his parents to completing his apprenticeship as a mechanic and technician. Over the past 30 years, Mark has worked through every level of the business, becoming workshop manager, general manager, and now leading Hammond 4WD with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of both the technical and customer sides of the industry.

Just over one year ago, Kiara Hammond, Mark’s daughter, joined the business full-time, marking the arrival of the third generation. Her involvement reflects our long-term commitment to the industry and our determination to continue evolving while maintaining the values the business was built on.

Today, Hammond 4WD Tyres and More is supported by a dedicated team of 11 experienced staff, all of whom share a genuine passion for four-wheel drives. From wheels and tyres to suspension, servicing, and custom work, our team treats every vehicle as if it were their own.

We do not believe in shortcuts, rushed jobs, or one-size-fits-all solutions. We believe in experience, communication, and doing the job properly because that is what keeps customers coming back.
